I am so excited to show you how to use Stampin’ Up!’s Pigment Sprinkles! Pigment Sprinkles are watercolor crystals that come in exclusive Stampin’ Up colors. You can mix these crystals with water to create washes, watercolor backgrounds, and you can use them for other watercolor techniques.
To activate the pigments for a true to color look all you do is add water.
When using the pignement sprinkles, the best paper to use includes Shimmery White Cardstock and Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
Next, there are several tools that will help you when making projects with Pigment Sprinkles.
These are a perfect way to pick up the sprinkles when using an artist pallet to hold the sprinkles. Putting a little pigment into a container and then adding water allows you to color the image as if you are water coloring. You can also use the Aqua Painters to do a background wash.
The Stampin’ Spritzer allows you to spray the paper before adding pigment to activate the pigment upon contact. This allows for a swirly look and deeper color. Another way to use this tool for a different look is to sprinkle some pigment onto a piece of paper first and then spray. This will allow you to have more control over the pigment and get a lighter airy look.
How to Make The Card
This card uses two techniques using the Melon Mambo Pigment Sprinkles. When using the pigment to watercolor, stamping your image in Stazon ink will prevent any bleeds.
After stamping your image use the Stazon cleaner to clean the stamp.
