Petal Palette Suite

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would pop on my blog today to talk about bundles that are going away once the NEW catalog is released. Bundles are items that Stampin’ Up puts together, say a framelit and a stamp set that coordinate together and the individual purchasing the items SAVES 10%. However, with each new catalog the bundles change and as a result the items are bundled in the 2017-2018 catalog will no longer be bundled in the 2018-2019 catalog. One of these bundles that I want to talk about is the Petal Palette Suite, this set when purchased before June 1st will have a discount of 10%!

Using the Petal Palette Suite, Alex and I made these two cards. The designer series paper is also from the suite.

This is such a fun suite, make sure to pick it up with the 10% discount from my store.

New discounts have been added onto the Last-Chance Products up to 50%. Visit my store to see or purchase the quickly going items.

Here is a list of NEW discounts on select items. Be sure to pick them up quickly at my store, because Stampin’ Up has limited quantities of the items.

Watercolor Wings

Hello Everyone,

I am excited to announce that Stampin’ Up is doing a color revamp!

So what that means is that we have to say goodbye to many of our colors and say hello to many new ones. We are also welcoming in five new In-Colors. Along with saying goodbye to colors, we must also say goodbye to some of our stamp sets because a new catalog is coming! What that means is that Stampin’ Up has released a retired list filled with all of the stamp sets and items from the 2017-2018 catalog and Occasions catalog that will not be returning in the new catalog.

Here are the retired lists links for the Occasions catalog and the Annual catalog.

If you see anything thing that you like on either of these lists be sure to visit my store soon because the supplies for the items never last long. You can also email me your order or if you have any questions at [email protected], I look forward to hearing from you.

Z Fold Card

Hello Everyone,

Today I wanted to come on and talk to you about Z Fold cards as they come in many different designs. I had so much fun looking at all of the examples that are out there that I was inspired to create three of my own, each with a different z fold design. What I love about these cards are they are easily customizable to match your mood or card occasion.

Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, and Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. The Stamp set used to make this card is Watercolor Wings.

To make this card I used 2016-2018 In-Colors, you want to act fast if you want to purchase these colors because they are retiring soon. The speciality DSP used to make this card is also retired soon as it is part of Sale-A-Bration which ends on Saturday, March 31st 2018. The DSP is free with a purchase of $50 but you have to act soon as Sale-A-Bration ends in three days.

Rich Razzelberry,  Tutti-Frutti 6×6 Designer Series Paper, and Springtime Foils Designer Paper. The stamp set used is the Sale-A-Bration set Amazing You.

This card also uses Sale-A-Bration items, because of the Stampset Amazing You. This stamp set is FREE with a purchase of $50 dollars, however it is leaving with the other Sale-A-Bration items. The Designer Series Paper is from the Tutti-Frutti 6×6 paper and it is from the Occasions Catalog. This paper adds such a fun splash of color or fruttiness to your cards.

The Cardstock used to make this card includes Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper. The stamp set used is Petal Palette.

I featured this card on my weekly Facebook Live Event which is held weekly on Wednesday at 6:30 Arizona time to watch you can click here. To find the card tutorial you can click on the link below for a full list of products used and directions.

Going Away In-Colors 2016-2018

It is approaching that sad time of year when we have to say goodbye to five of our colors. The colors that are leaving us are Dapper Denim,Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum.

Over the past few days Alex and I have been creating cards with new Sale-A-Bration items and the results are simply wonderful. You want to stock up now before these items such as paper, ink refills, markers, and stamping pads hit the retired product list because in my experience they do not last a day on the list. You can stock up on these items at my store.

Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, and Emerald Envy. Sale-A-Bration Stamp sets and ribbon were also used.

You can find these cards featured on my Facebook live March 21st, 2018 episode.

Just a reminder that there are only ten days left in Sale-A-Bration, so if there is anything you have been wanting now is a good time to pick up that item along with some of the going away In Colors.

As seen on Facebook Live

Follow Karen for weekly card ideas every Wednesday.

If you want a hard copy of this tutorial here is the link: Pumpkin Thanks 2017

Today Alex’s and I did a Facebook Live tutorial on this fun festive fall card. We wanted to play around with the new Gourd Goodness stamp set form the Holiday 2017 catalog. In this tutorial we got to also play with the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper, which includes the colors Berry Burst (in-color), Lemon Lime Twist (in-color), Soft Sky, and Tangerine Tango. My favorite is the Lemon Lime Twist, while Alex’s is Soft Sky.  Let us know in the comments which color is your favorite. This Designer Series Paper is so versatile because if you did not want to use the shiny metallic side you could use the kraft paper side to create a beautiful card.

In the video you will see when Alex accidentally got Early Espresso ink on the white square with the pumpkins. In the Gourd Goodness set there is a set of leaves that we used to cover up the tiny mistake and it turned out to be a happy little accident.

Tell us in the comments which card you like best, the one with the leaves or the ones without the leaves.

2nd Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And to be honest I am having trouble with this post. Cancer sucks! I lost my dad to cancer 8 years ago. It was not Breast Cancer, It was Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Diffuse Large D cell. It was not supposed to be aggressive at all. As a matter of fact they told him after his first treatment it would go into remission and he would live a long happy life! Well that didn’t happen! I watched him die a slow long death from the moment he was diagnosed. So I do know how much it sucks.

But we are here to talk pink! This is the card we did for this hop. I had not used this set yet. This set is called Ribbon of Courage. It was inspired by Patty Bennett, who is a Million Dollar Achiever. We made a pocket card for this project.

You could use this stamp set in many ways and with various colors for the many cancers out there. Embossing is one of my favorite techniques! So we embossed the stamping on the ribbon and also the sentiment.

Please have fun on the blog hop and don’t forget to get your mammogram!

Thank you for joining me from my Stamping Place,

Karen

Playing With Glossy Cardstock

Polished Stone Technique

The other day I was play with this technique. I took about a half sheet of glossy white and a cotton ball, added rubbing alcohol to it and the a few fall colored reinkers. I then dabbed the cotton ball onto the glossy white cardstock and then let it dry. I then to the leaves from Seasonal Layers Framelits and cut out quite a few. Well I started making cards with them and this is one of the cards I created! This technique really makes the leaves look real!

I want to remind you of our awesome sales going on right now.

Beautiful You Watercolor Wash

This is one of the cards I featured at my watercolor class a couple weeks ago. I absolutely love this set. There is so much you can do with it!

I used one of the new In-Colors, Berry Burst. It just makes such a beautiful wash! I then stamped the image in Basic Black ink. I took the aqua painter and added some more of the Berry Burst ink in areas for shading. I also colored in the umbrella. For the flower I used different sizes of circle punches. I then ran them through the Big-Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder. Then snipped around the circles being careful not to go all the way to the center. I distressed them up in the palm of my hand. I glue dotted them together to form the flower. I added a little metallic thread behind the flower and then an Enamel dot to finish it off!
