How to Make a Masculine Card with Garden Birdhouses

Today was a bit windy in Huachuca City so my granddaughter Savannah and I flew a kite. Savannah and Papa picked it out while we were at a store in town. She was so excited to fly the kite! She was flying the kit for about 45 minutes before the wind dipped and the kit ended up over a tree in the yard. I grabbed a ladder and a rake to try to get the kite out of it but the wind had picked back up and twisted it around a branch. It was Papa and Josh to the rescue when they got back from a job site! It is a good thing that Josh is a part-time firefighter and he quickly untangled the kite. After all that excitment was done it was time to go inside and work on cards. I decided to make a masculine birthday card using the Garden Birdhouses set and a colors from a color challenge that my team had last month.

 Today’s Project – Creating a Masculine Card

A friend and I were talking and they pointed out that masculine cards are not something that I create often. So a goal for the upcoming catalog is to create a masculine and feminine card with stamp sets that I purchase. I am starting the goal early by making a masculine and feminine card using the Garden Birdhouse using the same colors and papers.

For the feminine card I added ribbon and lighter colors. Within the stamp set there is a grass stamp and a flowers stamp. So I used the floral stamp with this card. Plus one can never forget the bling so I added Rhinestones.

For the masculine card I used darker colors and the Matte dots.

I love how both of these cards came out! The variaitions in colors on the masculine card’s bird house is something I could see my Dad doing if he was creating a birdhouse.
