Slide and Lock Card: Try this Easy Fun Fold that is Perfect for Spring

I love that Spring is here in Huachuca City! It has been amazing seeing all of my flowers bloom and watching my granddaughter try to fly her kite. She named it Personality! So I thought it was a great day to create a card that is perfect spring.

I love the spring animals from the Easter Friends stamp set. This set has a bunny, chick, and duck plus a little patch of grass. The Easter Friends set isn’t just for Easter, it is a great card to celebrate spring with sentiments that are perfect for sending warm wishes to friends.

In addition, I can see someone making a chocolate bunny card with this set for Easter or the little duck dancing in the rain!

Today’s Project

This card is a slide and lock fun fold. It is almost like a gatefold card but more elivated. It also lays flat so that it will fit into envelopes making it easy to mail.

I used the rocking technique to give the duck a little bit more color. I first stamped the image in Daffodil Delight Ink before rocking the edges of the stamp in Mango Melody. I then pulled the color more into the image by dragging from the outside more towards the middle with my Wink-of-Stella.

I think that the Designer Series Paper helps to showcase the spring vibes I was going for.

Measurements

Cardbase – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8 on each side along the 8 1/2″ side

Designer Series Paper Layers – 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″

4 pieces of Basic White at 3″ x 3″
