Three Simple Homemade Cards That You Can Create

My daffodils are beginning to bloom and I am so excited! My granddaughter and I planted them a couple of months ago and now they are coming out to say hello as Spring is here! One of the things that always happens to me around this time of year is that my allergies pop up with all the pollen in the air. So I thought I needed to stock up on my homemade ‘Get Well’ Cards. These are perfect to send to someone who is feeling down or their allergies are flaring up.

Today’s Project- Homemade Cards

Today I am a bit under the weather so Alex and I figured out some easy cards that are perfect to send to someone in need of cheering up. These easy homemade cards can be created in a matter of minutes. We used two stamp sets to create these cards.

Truth be told this was our first time stamping with the Watercolor Shapes Stamp set and we loved how everything came out. This stamp set would also be good for inserts within the homemade cards. Since, they could add color to any image or simply provide some decoration.

The watercolor shapes stamp like a watercolored image with some areas being darker than others. The images from back on your feet are lined so they are not filled in like the shapes. This means that they can be colored using the Stampin’ Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers. However, with this card there is NO colroring needed. The stamped shapes provide all the coloring.

Measurements

Card Base – Basic Black – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

Layer One – Colored Cardstock – 4″ x. 5 1/4″

Layer Two – Basic White – 3 3/4″ x 5″

Insert Piece – Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″

For this card we used Balmy Blue Ink and Pacific Point Ink. In addition we used the two ovals from the Watercolor Shapes Stamp set. Next, stamp the ovals along the right side of the layer making sure to overlap some.

Next, we used Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight for this card! I love how easy it was to just stamp the circles diagnoly across the page overlaping to give the card a little more depth.

Finally, we used three colors for this card, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive and Garden Green. We mixed the rectangles with the smallest square on this card. My favorite thing about this card is that the sentiment fit perfectly ontop of one of the rectangles.

In addition, I love the use Holiday Rhinestones on these simply stamped cards because they really align with the colors used on the cards.

We stamped the giraffe card a couple of times because we wanted the placement of the colors to really cover him. We also played around with the blues before deciding on Pacific Point and Balmy Blue.
